The Last Tailor

Marek Wolski has cut suits at 14 Piotrkowska Street since 1970. The shop has one chair, one iron and no apprentice.

I asked if I could photograph for a week. It became a year. Marek talks while he works, mostly about cloth, sometimes about the men who wore it: a bridegroom, a minister, a boy outgrowing his first jacket.

The pictures are about hands and patience, and about a craft that will end with one person. He knows it. He keeps cutting anyway, and that is the story.
