Plate 00, Halina Voss, Gdansk studio, 2024

Halina Voss is an independent documentary photographer. She works on long projects, usually two to four years, about people and places that are changing quietly.

Born in Gdansk in 1986, she studied photography in Lodz and spent her twenties assisting newspaper photographers before deciding that speed was not her subject. Her series Salt Harvest, Night Ferry and The Last Tailor have been published in The Guardian Weekend, Zeit Magazin and Kinfolk.

She shoots mostly on film, prints her own work and teaches a yearly workshop on long-form storytelling. She is represented for editorial commissions by her studio and for prints by two galleries in Warsaw and Berlin.
